Thank you for being here! Here is a little back story of L. Williams Designs:

After an unexpected injury derailed my plans of a college tennis career, I needed a new hobby and jewelry making became just that. My mom would drop me off at a local store (Beads, Inc. formerly On a String in Charlotte!) for a few hours and it was there that I learned the basics of jewelry design. Soon, I created my own business and began selling my work at local shows and through word of mouth. During college, I continued to hone my craft through work with a dear friend and fellow designer, Erin McDermott White. 

I started my professional career working as an eating disorders dietitian after attending graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill for my MPH/RD degrees. While I loved my work, I greatly missed my creative outlet. After welcoming my first child in 2023, I found solace and creativity in reviving my long-lost hobby of jewelry making, and soon, L. Williams Designs was launched from our guest bedroom. 

Whenever I am searching for inspiration, I look for the items I have never seen before, the piece I don’t know what to do with in the moment but have that feeling it is special, the dress on the sale rack no one else wants, the beads that remind me of my grandmother. I take these little details and carry them with me into my work, hand picking each bead to create collections of handmade and curated, unique jewelry with a focus on timeless ease, comfort and versatility.

I’m an old soul, a creature of comfort, a wife, a lover of all types of art, a people pleaser, a mom, a traveller (both locally and globally), an introverted extravert, a finder of discounts, a friend, and a learner for life. Each of us have our own unique style that is beautiful. Whether you think you have the simplest or most extravagant style, my hope is that you can find a L. Williams Designs piece that inspires and excites you from one season to the next.
